Solutions Hill LLC provides Front Desk, an AI-powered receptionist and sales automation service for businesses. Front Desk supports both customer-care SMS and separately consented marketing or promotional SMS. The consent method depends on the messaging use case.
1. How SMS consent is obtained
An end user first places an inbound telephone call to a business using Solutions Hill Front Desk. Front Desk does not send an SMS merely because a person called, provided a telephone number, or otherwise interacted with the business.
When a caller requests information that can be sent by text, or the receptionist offers to text requested customer-care information, the receptionist must ask for affirmative verbal consent before any SMS is sent.
2. Verbal consent disclosure used during the call
The Front Desk receptionist uses the following disclosure before sending an SMS:
“May I send you a text message related to this request? Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.”
The caller must affirmatively agree after hearing the disclosure. If the caller says no, gives an unclear response, does not respond affirmatively, or withdraws consent, Front Desk does not send the SMS.
SMS consent is optional and is not a condition of purchase, telephone service, or receiving customer service by phone.
3. Marketing and promotional SMS consent
Marketing or promotional SMS uses a separate written opt-in flow. A business may contact a prospect through another channel such as email and offer an optional consent link, or publish its Sales & CRM Contact Preferences page so a person can voluntarily opt in. Front Desk does not treat a discovered or publicly available phone number as SMS consent and does not send a first marketing text merely to ask for permission.
The written opt-in experience identifies the business, asks the recipient to provide a mobile number, presents an unchecked SMS consent box, states that consent is not a condition of purchase, discloses that message frequency varies and message/data rates may apply, and explains STOP and HELP. When the public Contact Preferences page is used, AI voice and SMS choices remain separate. Front Desk stores the disclosure version and text, timestamp, prospect/contact linkage where available, submitted number, and supporting request evidence.
4. What messages may be sent
Customer-care consent permits communications that directly relate to the caller's interaction. Marketing consent permits sales, promotional, and follow-up SMS from the identified business within the campaign and frequency controls configured in Front Desk.
